The Pitching Mechanics of Greg Maddux
This is a great breakdown of ideal pitching mechanics. Talk about somebody who knows how to throw baseball pitches of different kinds and all sorts of movement...there is no baseball pitcher better at this.
Notice the nice tempo and rhythm in his delivery; he's also powerful but under control. Everyone knows that he basically pitched anywhere from 85-88mph and won more than 350 Major League Baseball games. He didn't pitch at 90mph or more..but not because he couldn't; he realized he didn't have to in order to win.
If you look closely, his ability to rotate his hips before his shoulders is as efficient as anyone in the game. You want to see proper pitching mechanics that are basically flawless...watch him pitch.
There have been many great pitchers throughout baseball history. Some can throw harder, some have better breaking pitches, some have more strikeouts; but there have been no better pitchers in the game of baseball than this man here.
