1. Getting better at anything takes hard work, patience and commitment. Be prepared to put in the work necessary to do that.
2. Understand that there is no “perfect” technique. Yes…you can improve them to increase their effectiveness and you should study great pitchers to find out how yours can get better. But be sure to spend just as much time developing the other skills necessary to be successful.
3.Work hard on technique in team practice and on your own so that during game time, the focus is on execution of pitches and the game plan.
4. Physically making your technique better is not the only thing you should take from practice. You are also building confidence. This confidence assures you have the ability to execute what you've worked on when game day arrives.
5. Be patient and try not to get discouraged when something is hard to do or is more challenging than you would like it to be. Remember, if being a great pitcher were easy there would be more pitchers.
Good luck!
