Scott Kazmir is sometimes a hit or miss kind of pitcher and you don’t seem to know exactly what the Rays can expect from him every time out. It’s important to keep in mind that he came right out high school and he still VERY young at 25 yrs old. But at 25 he already got 4+ years of MLB experience under his belt. This experience, I believe, will do him favors very soon.
When he came out of high school he was known for his mid 90’s fastball and good breaking pitches. Frankly, in high school you don’t need much else when you throw so hard so he’s had to develop his other pitches and that takes time. Combine that with his age and having to learn how to pitch at the ML level and you’re not surprised he’s struggle a bit.
His mechanics too are pretty simple. Kazmir has pretty good control over his body though he sometimes tends to open up a little violently, leading to less-than desired control and velocity. But he’s a good example that you don’t have to be 6’5 220lbs to throw hard and have success. He does a good job of using what he has.
Do you want to improve your pitching mechanics?
Do you want to increase pitching velocity?
Do you want to perfect your pitching technique?
If you want to become a better baseball pitcher there is no better way than to study the best. Here you will find the best baseball pitching clips on the internet. And these are real pitching clips, not something shot from the nosebleeds section of the stands in what seems like a tornado. These are the best pitchers in the game.
There are different ways we can learn how to be a better pitcher. First, you should read and gather as much good information about the position as you can. The first step in understanding baseball pitching basics is to increase your knowledge by gathering this information.
The next step is actually taking that information and putting it into action through hard work in practice. But sometimes taking the information that we read and trying to implement it into how our body moves can be difficult. Sometimes we need something extra so that it “clicks” and we get it.
Watching good pitching clips of successful Major League Baseball pitchers is the best way to supplement your knowledge of pitching and gives you a visual of what the correct way of pitching looks like.
Study these clips over and over. Watch and look for the similarities the pitchers have in the clips. Watch and look for the differences the pitchers have.
If you want to be the best, you have to study the best. Good luck.
